Jacinth Ambrosia Mine Annex (Present)

The Jacinth-Ambrosia Annex has been built to suit the needs for which Coffey Testing – Adelaide has been contracted, which is the construction of the earthworks’ walls. Coffey Testing will be ensuring their durability via density and moisture testing.

This lab was set up on Wednesday 24 January 2024.

Our Coffey Testing – Adelaide team can also facilitate the following testing from this annex:

  • Hilf Density Test AS 1289.5.7.1,
  • Oven Moisture Content AS 1289.2.1.1, and
  • Nuclear Density Field Reading AS1289.5.8.1.

Meet our Laboratory Contact,
Max DeSciscio

Since joining Coffey Testing in 2021, Max has built a strong career within the construction materials testing industry, progressing from a T2 technician through to laboratory supervisor in Adelaide.

With a science background, Max was drawn to the industry through the opportunity to apply his technical knowledge in a practical laboratory environment. Throughout his time at Coffey Testing, he has developed extensive experience across a range of testing areas, with his key expertise being soil testing, while also building strong capability in aggregates and concrete testing.

Max has contributed to several significant projects across South Australia, including the Fleurieu Connections Alliance Project (South Road duplication) with CPB, the Tram Grade Separation Project with McConnell Dowell and CPB Joint Venture, and the Jacinth Ambrosia A3 and A4 Walls project with Iluka.

What Max enjoys most about working at Coffey Testing is the opportunity to be involved in diverse projects, experience different locations across the country, and see the direct impact of the work being delivered.

Adelaide, South Australia Projects

The Coffey Testing – Adelaide team has been contracted for a period of 4-months, to assist with the construction of the a2 wall.
Coffey Testing in Adelaide have been assisting with the $685 million project, the Fleurieu Connections Alliance Project Stage 1 – Main South Road Duplication Project in South Australia.
Coffey Testing has successfully completed testing for Phase 2 Ground Investigations and are currently undertaking testing for Phase 3 Ground Investigations of the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) North-South Corridor project.
Our team are providing soil and aggregate testing services for the project via our comprehensive annex laboratory.
