This Workplace Safety Month, Coffey Testing is taking the opportunity to reinforce the importance of safe work practices, ongoing awareness and a proactive approach to health and safety across everything we do.
Safety starts with every one of us
In the testing, construction and materials industry, our people work across a range of environments, from laboratories and workshops to active construction sites and field locations. Each environment presents its own challenges, making it essential to remain alert, follow established procedures and look out for one another.
While policies, training and equipment play an important role in managing risk, a strong safety culture is built through the everyday decisions we make. Taking the time to assess a task, identify potential hazards and speak up when something doesn’t look right can make a significant difference.

Creating a safer workplace doesn’t always require major changes. Often, it’s the simple, consistent actions that have the greatest impact.
This Workplace Safety Month, we encourage everyone to focus on a few key safety practices:
- Identify hazards early. Take the time to assess your surroundings, recognise potential risks and report hazards before they lead to an incident.
- . Follow safe work procedures. Use the correct equipment, wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and never take shortcuts when it comes to safety.
- Keep communication open. Share concerns, ask questions and speak up if a task or environment doesn’t feel safe.
- Maintain a tidy workspace. Good housekeeping helps reduce slips, trips and falls while supporting a safer and more efficient working environment.
- Look out for your team. Safety is a collective effort. Checking in with colleagues and encouraging safe behaviours helps strengthen our workplace culture.
