Coffey Testing Supporting Essential Water Infrastructure in Western Australia

Coffey Testing is proud to be supporting works at the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant, a significant infrastructure project delivering a climate-independent and sustainable drinking water source for Western Australia.

Delivered by the Alkimos Seawater Alliance, the project will see the construction of a new desalination facility capable of supplying up to 50 billion litres of clean drinking water each year from 2028, with future capacity to expand as demand increases. Once complete, the plant will play a critical role in strengthening long-term water security for the state’s growing population and reducing reliance on traditional rainfall-dependent sources.

As part of our involvement, Coffey Testing is providing full-scope testing on the cut-to-fill earthworks across the project. This independent testing is essential in verifying that earthworks meet strict specification, quality, and compliance requirements throughout construction. It supports safe construction practices, long-term performance, and durability of the completed infrastructure.

We’re proud to contribute our expertise to works that support sustainable infrastructure, climate resilience, and long-term community benefit for Western Australia.
